Kamal Haasan On Cauvery Dispute River Will Continue To Flow

Many celebrities from Kollywood and Sandalwood, like actors Prakash Raj, Vijay Sethupathi and RJ Balaji, took to their official social media pages to appeal for peace and share their grievances over the attacks on innocents.

Kamal Haasan said in a Tamil tweet, "The Cauvery flowed when we were apes (Monkeys) without a language. It will flow long after we are gone. We will have to ashamed when we look at ourselves in the mirror of history."

Bengaluru and parts of Karnataka broke out into violent protests after the Supreme Court ordered the release of water from the Cauvery River to Tamil Nadu.

Protests against this by Kannada groups had turned violent on Monday and Tuesday, and several people were hurt and two killed in Bengaluru.

Vehicles having Tamil Nadu registration were also torched and destroyed even as business establishments owned by Tamils were targeted. In Tamil Nadu, restaurants and hotels belonging to Kannadigas and vehicles bearing Karnataka registration were attacked.
