If you like content oriented movies, then Beautiful Manasugalu is a must watch. The movie is a refreshing new-age story of two innocent lovers who fall prey to the TRP-driven news hungry media manipulation, who is just looking to make news sensationalism and the corrupt system in our society.

Prashanth (Sathish Ninasam) is a happy-go-lucky youngster who falls for Nandhini (Sruthi Hariharan) a beautician and the only earning member of her lower middle-class family. They seem to have a fairy tale romance going for them, until one incident ruins their lives as well as the lives of those around them.

Director Jayatheertha's Beautiful Manasugalu aspires to be a movie about women and society's insensitive towards them. With a woman-centric theme influenced by a real incident happened in 2012

Jayatheertha’s story goes around character assassination of the lead actress and the unerasable aftereffects. Nandhini, who worked in a beauty parlour, comes in the spotlight when her parlour got raided on suspicion of running a racket.

Later, Nandini was pushed to the wall by her society and got accused of immoral activity. Unfortunately, her beau Prashanth also disregards her.

Both the actors have done an excellent job in this film. Sathish has impressed the audience with his body language, dialogues and expressions. Sruthi gets into the skin of Nandhini as always; she is one Kannada actress who is raising the bar with every film.

Keeping rest aside in some places the movie failed to impress the critics because it was not able to connect a good beginning and a good ending in a smooth way. However, Beautiful Manasugalu made a fruitful progress in a way.

After a long time, theatre actor Tabla Naani was seen in an interesting role of a street artist while Akshata, Meghashree, Sandeep, Prashanth Siddi and Swathi Konde are in supporting roles.

Achyuth Kumar delivers another rock solid performance as a villain in the movie. No doubt, he is one among the finest actors of Kannada film industry.

If you are looking for a genuine and romantic tale which is not only mushy-mushy love and has a bit of a reality check, without over-the-top masala, then Beautiful Manasugalu makes for a refreshing watch. BJ Bharath's music uplifts the mood at regular intervals.

Beautiful Manasugalu has a message important in the times of CCTVs; there is no getting away from wrongdoings. According to the reports, the movie has collected between ₹4.20 Crores from the very first day of release and ₹3.40 Crore from the very second day of release. We are sure that the movie will do well in coming days as we have a public holiday on Thursday 26th January.
