No one has the right to abuse Suresh Gopi: Salimkumar

Kerala Elections Salim Kumar supports Suresh Gopi

Super Star Suresh Gopi's open support to the BJP and his nomination to the Rajya Sabha had not gone well with many in the film industry. Director Kamal was very vocal in his criticism on the actor and said that it was a shame that the film star went after the BJP to secure a berth in the Rajya Sabha.

The left parties and the Congress were also very critical of Suresh Gopi's new role as the star campaigner for the BJP in the Assembly Polls.

But the superstar got a strong backing from national award winning actor Salim Kumar who rapped the critics saying that nobody has the right to abuse Suresh Gopi for his choice to go with the BJP. "Shouldn't we rejoice at the RS entry of Suresh Gopi," he told Manorama. "Numerous film actors and writers have joined the saffron party. After all, BJP is not banned in India, is it," said Salim Kumar, who is an active Congress supporter.

The actor also said that it was the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) to take a call on his resignation letter. It may be recalled that Salim Kumar had resigned from the association in protest against actor Mohanlal campaigning for Ganesh Kumar at Pathanapuram.
