Bareilly: Crime has struck once again, and Uttar Pradesh is in the news for the wrong reasons after armed men barged into a house and kidnapped a man and his teenage daughter.

The incident occurred in UP's Sambhal district. As per a report, a group of armed eight men with their faces covered on a motorcycle barged into a house in Kudh Fatehgarh area and a man was dragged out. When his teenage daughter rushed to save him and pleaded with the assailants to leave her father alone, she too was allegedly dragged by her hair and kidnapped.

The rest of the family members were left in the house locked from the outside.

As per police, the incident appears as an act of personal rivalry. However, the family claims they have good relations with everyone in the village and relatives.

“All of us were sleeping when the eight men forcibly entered the house at 1 am. They dragged away my father. And when my sister begged them to leave him, she too was taken away. While leaving, the assailants locked the door from outside,” the victim’s son was quoted as saying in a report.

Police have registered an FIR against unknown persons under sections 364 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which ranges from kidnapping or abducting in order to murder, for criminal intimidation.
