After the shameful incident of rape of victim in an ambulance, a health inspector in Kerala allegedly raped a patient after inviting her home on the pretext of giving her, her reports.

A 44-year-old woman after her recovery from COVID, was allegedly forcibly confined to a health official's house. According to her complaint, her hands were tied, and she was forced to have sex with him. The victim approached police later and filed a complaint.

The incident was reported from rural Thiruvananthapuram on September 3 and the accused is identified as Pradeep, a junior health inspector.

As per the complaint, the health official called the woman who was in quarantine at her relatives’ house at Kulathupuzha. After her quarantine period ended, the official asked her to collect the COVID negative certificate from his house. Upon reaching the place, the woman’s hands were tied, and she was forced to have sex with him.

Police, who arrested the accused health official, say they have found evidence of sexual intercourse. They, however, are awaiting forensic reports to match the allegations levelled by the woman.

He was produced before court on Monday and was later taken into custody. Health minister KK Shailaja ordered his immediate suspension.
