Sachin Tendulkar is a legendary former Indian cricketer who remains the best in the world even today. Although the Master Blaster hanged up his boots six years back, he continues to contribute to the sport somehow or the other.

Meanwhile, since he announced his retirement six years ago, he has been taking part in other social causes. With the world celebrating Blood Donor Day, Tendulkar played his role by donating blood and asked India’s citizens to play their role.

He shared a video of the same where he is seen getting into a blood-donating vehicle. At first, his temperature is checked, followed by a blood pressure check as the process begins. “We all have the power to save a life. Let’s use it. Sharing a recent incident from my personal life that really touched my heart. On #WorldBloodDonorDay, I request everyone who can donate blood to get in touch with a blood bank and understand how to do so safely,” he captioned the video.

“Some time ago, one of my family members got operated and it was a major surgery, lost a lot of blood. It was a traumatic experience for all of us. Someone unknown person donated blood and saved my family member’s life. We were super thrilled and we didn’t know how to thank, so I’m using this platform to thank that person,” he said in the video.

“Today is World Blood Donor Day. And, me, along with my team, have donated blood. And, I sincerely hope that this helps someone who is in need. I simultaneously want to urge everyone to voluntarily donate blood. This is a noble cause, so all you need to do is get in touch with a blood bank, and I’m sure they will be more than happy to guide you. Please do so,” he added.

Tendulkar has been highly active during this time of the pandemic, trying to help the nation in every way possible. He also launched a campaign to help the healthcare sector with enough oxygen supplies to treat COVID patients.
