Bengaluru: Describing it as an “amazing show”, Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli on Saturday (May 16) heaped praise on his actress wife Anushka Sharma for the web series Paatal Lok.

Paatal Lok has been receiving positive reviews. The series is produced by Anushka. And, it is streaming on Amazon Prime.

The 31-year-old Kohli said he had watched the series weeks ago, terming it as “perks of being married to the producer”. He also said he “absolutely loved it”.

“The perks of being married to the producer of this amazing show means I saw it weeks ago (winking face with tongue emoji) and I absolutely loved it! Well done Team Clean Slate Films @AnushkaSharma (red heart emoji) @OfficialCSFilms #PataalLok (sic),” Kohli wrote on his Twitter account.

On Instagram, Kohli wrote, "Having watched the whole season of PAATAL LOK a while ago, I knew it's a masterpiece of story telling, screenplay and tremendous acting. Now having seen how people loved it too, just confirmed how I saw the show. Proud of my love @anushkasharma for producing sucha gripping series and believing in her team along with our bhaiji @kans26 . Well done brother (sic)."

According to Amazon Prime, Paatal Lok’s storyline is this. “A down and out cop lands the case of a lifetime when four suspects are nabbed in the assassination attempt of a prime time journalist. The case turns out to be a devious maze where nothing is what it looks like. The pursuit of it leads him to the dark netherworld - the 'Paatal Lok', and to shocking discoveries in the past of the four suspects.”

The crime-thriller starring Jaideep Ahlawat, Neeraj Kabi, Gul Panag, was released on Amazon Prime on Friday (May 15). It has nine episodes in season 1.

Anushka said she celebrated the success of Paatal Lok with a bash online with her team. “What ‘Success party’s’ look like in these times . PAATAL LOK streaming NOW on @PrimeVideoIN !! Had a blast with this incredible team of ours (sic),” she wrote on her Twitter page with pictures.
