The 2021 Indian Premier League is all set to resume in the United Arab Emirates from Sunday. While all the sides look to pick up from where they left off, former champion Kolkata Knight Riders remains one of the fan-favourite and top sides.

KKR is currently placed seventh on the table, while its chances of making it to the playoffs look scrappy. However, win in all the games hereon would significantly boost its prospects.

Meanwhile, KKR would heavily rely on its top order, especially Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana. Moreover, ahead of the tournament's resumption, its chief mentor David Hussey believes that the duo is ready to shock the world in the competition remainder, terming them as the "next generation of Indian players".

Speaking to ESPNCricinfo, Hussey said that both are quality players and are sure to do well for the side, along with themselves, as they have had some taste of international cricket. He felt that the duo could shock the world in the next decade, warning to watch out for them in this IPL.

He also backed skipper Eoin Morgan to lead the side better in UAE, while he feels that some encouraging performances from him would also aid the side. He thinks that the skipper would be dominant in the remaining seven games with his captaincy, admitting that he would be disappointed at how things have panned out so far this season.

Although the road ahead for KKR is tricky, Hussey asserted his confidence on the side, deeming it capable of bouncing back. He senses that all the side needs to do is win the remaining games, as it has the squad to do so, having done it before already.
