IPL 2021: Is MS Dhoni still the 'master'? RCB head coach Simon Katich comments
MS Dhoni is a former Indian skipper, having retired from international cricket in 2020. He continues to lead Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. CSK is currently placed second in the IPL 2021 points table, having won three of the four games so far.
When it comes to Chennai Super Kings, the one thing that fascinates everyone is its legendary skipper MS Dhoni. While Dhoni retired from international cricket last year, he continues to lead CSK with his priceless services, having already led the side to three IPL titles.
Dhoni and co failed to perform last season, having finished at the seventh spot, while CSK did not qualify for the playoffs for the first time. Nevertheless, it has managed to produce the stellar performance it is famous for, so far this season.
However, Dhoni's performance has been dicey this season, having managed to score just 35 runs in three innings at a poor average of 11.66. Nevertheless, Royal Challengers Bangalore head coach Simon Katich continues to have tremendous respect for the veteran, terming him as the 'master'.
"Dhoni is a master, isn't he? They are sitting at the top with three wins, they have had a fantastic start, they have fantastic players, we have a huge amount of respect for CSK, it is going to be a great game, we have seen some great games in Mumbai already. CSK has a very damaging batting lineup but we know our bowling lineup has performed well this season," he was quoted as saying in a Twitter video by RCB.
As for RCB, it is currently on a winning streak, having won all four games so far and is placed atop the table. However, when it comes to the head-to-head against CSK, the latter leads 17-9. Nonetheless, judging by the form of both sides this season so far, it is expected to a cracker of a game.
