ICC World T20 2021 schedule announced, India to play Pakistan on October 24

The cricketing world is gearing up for the biggest Twenty20 festival, as the much-awaited ICC World T20 2021 would be played this year in Oman and the United Arab Emirates. The tournament starts on October 17 with the qualifiers in Oman before moving to the Super 12 from October 23.

India is placed in Group 2 against Pakistan, New Zealand, Afghanistan and a couple of qualifiers. India is scheduled to get its proceedings underway against its arch-rival Pakistan on October 24 in Dubai, as announced by the International Cricket Council.

Meanwhile, defending champion Windies has been placed in Group 1, alongside England, Australia, South Africa and a couple of qualifiers. It gets its campaign underway on October 23 against England.

Qualifiers groups:
Group A: Sri Lanka, Ireland, the Netherlands and Namibia
Group B: Bangladesh, Scotland, Papua New Guinea and Oman

Super 12 groups:
Group 1: England, Australia, South Africa, West Indies, A1 and B2.
Group 2: India, Pakistan, New Zealand, Afghanistan, A2 and B1.
