‘First session after lockdown’: Virat Kohli’s picture gets over 1.7 million likes

Bengaluru: As India continues to fight the coronavirus (COVID-19) and remains under a lockdown until May 17, Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli has given a glimpse of what it would be like when the cricketers resume training, albeit a funny take.

The 31-year-old Kohli took to his Instagram account on Tuesday (May 5) to post a picture of him taking an outstanding catch in slips during a Test match. He tagged teammate Cheteshwar Pujara asking him to be ready to taking such catches after the lockdown.

“First session after lockdown be like @cheteshwar_pujara I hope you will go for the ball pujji (sic),” Kohli wrote with the picture. To this, Pujara replied, “Yes captain, and I shall catch it with both hands @virat.kohli (sic).”

Fast bowler Mohammed Shami too joined in, as he wrote, “Superman”. Former England captain Kevin Pietersen trolled Kohli for the picture as he commented, “#FakeNews. You could t catch a cold in winter! (sic).”

Kohli’s post was a big hit among fans. It has so far received more than 1.7 million likes. The picture which the right-handed batsman has posted is from Perth Test against Australia in December 2018. Kohli’s outstretched right hand grabbed Peter Handscomb’s edge off Ishant Sharma.
