India recorded 22,854 cases of coronavirus infection in a day, the highest in around two-and-half-months, taking the total tally of Covid-19 cases to 1,12,85,561, according to the Union health ministry data updated on Thursday.

The Covid-19 vaccines will be received under agreement with the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization which was set up in 2000 to ensure improved access to vaccines for children living in the poorest nations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephonic conversation with his Japanese counterpart Suga Yoshihide, which lasted for 40 minutes, wherein the two leaders discussed regional as well as global issues. 

"If there are no symptoms after 48 hours, the air crew (which includes pilots and cabin crew) is fit to resume 'unrestricted' flying duties," the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said in a circular.

India reported 15,388 new Covid-19 cases, 16,596 recoveries, and 77 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the health ministry's updated data on Tuesday.

India reported 18,711 new Covid-19 cases, 14,392 discharges and 100 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per the health ministry's updated data on Sunday.

The process is likely to begin next week after the completion of registration of Armed Forces medical facilities on Co-WIN Platform. 

The teams have been tasked with visiting the hotspot areas in the states and ascertain reasons for the surge. 

"We are not utilising it fully. We are either donating it to foreign countries or selling it to foreign countries and are not vaccinating our own people. So there has to be that sense of responsibility and urgency," the bench said.
