Coronavirus: 6 states account for 84.71% cases as India reports 18,711 new COVID-19 cases
India reported 18,711 new Covid-19 cases, 14,392 discharges and 100 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per the health ministry's updated data on Sunday.
As many as 18,711 new Covid-19 cases and 100 deaths were reported in India in the last 24 hours, the union health ministry informed on Sunday.
The country's overall Covid-19 cases tally has reached 1,12,10,799, including 1,84,523 active cases while the death toll has mounted to 1,57,756.
Six states including Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu are reporting high daily Covid-19 cases. They collectively account for 84.71% of the 18,711 new daily cases reported in the last 24 hours, says the health and family affairs ministry data.
India's total active caseload stands at 1.84 lakh (1,84,523) today. The country's present active caseload consists of 1.65% of the total positive cases.
A total of 100 Covid-19 related deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, with six states accounting for 87% of the new deaths.
A total of 22,14,30,507 samples have been tested for COVID-19 up to March 6, 2021, of these, 7,37,830 samples were tested on Friday, as per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
More than 2 crore (2,09,22,344) vaccine doses have been administered through 3,39,145 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am today.
