The Karnataka government has ordered a night curfew to be imposed from April 21 in the wake of the surging number of Coronavirus cases in the state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed the nation where he discussed the prevailing Covid-19 situation in the country and appealed to the country to come together to prevent another round of lockdown.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal goes into isolation after wife Sunita Kejriwal tested positive for Covid-19. Delhi CM has gone into isolation as a precautionary measure.

In her letter to the PM, Miss Banerjee wrote, I am informed that the Central Government has announced the much-delayed universal vaccine policy on 19th April, 2021, which appears to be hollow, without substance and a regrettable show of evasion of responsibility by the Central government at the time of crisis.  

 Chief Minister Hemant Soren has appealed to the people to follow lockdown rules and observe it as 'Swasthya suraksha saptah' (health protection week).  

Home deliveries may be allowed from 7 am to 8 pm, depending on local authorities, according to the order.

Confirming the same, Rahul Gandhi took to social media: "After experiencing mild symptoms, I have just tested positive for Covid. All those who have been in contact with me recently, please follow all safety protocols and stay safe."

Apart from this, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister CN Ashwath Narayan also assured that the state’s university exams will also be held as per schedule.  

Summer vacation for government schools was scheduled to begin on May 7. Since mid-February, students of Classes 10, 12 and teachers were attending the schools.
