The central government has released the latest clinical guidelines for the management of adult Covid-19 patients.

Tankers filled with Liquid Medical Oxygen from the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam facility in Vizag are being transported using the Roll-on/roll-off service of the Indian Railways.

Taking to Twitter, Prime Minister Modi said: "Tomorrow, will be chairing high-level meetings to review the prevailing COVID-19 situation. Due to that, I would not be going to West Bengal."

The MHA order noted that the availability of an adequate and uninterrupted supply of oxygen is an important prerequisite for managing moderate and severe cases of Covid-19, and with the number of cases on the rise, the supplies will have to keep pace.

PM spoke about the need to work rapidly on multiple aspects: increasing production of oxygen, increasing the speed of distribution and using innovative ways to provide oxygen support to health facilities.  

Prime Minister Scott Morrison, speaking to reporters after a meeting of the National Cabinet, said that he would announce in the next 24 hours when the new restrictions would come into place.
