 An elderly couple from Bengaluru's Madiwala has tested positive for novel coronavirus.  The 68-year old man and his 62-year old wife have a travel history to Dubai.

Bengaluru: An elderly couple from Bengaluru who have a  travel history to Dubai joined the list of coronavirus patients in the state. With this the total number of cases rose to 146, the health department said on Sunday.

The list includes four deaths and 11 people who have been discharged.

The 68-year old man and his 62-year old wife, hailing from Madiwala in Karnataka's Bengaluru, had returned from Dubai on March 22.

They were quarantined at a private hospital and have been asymptomatic so far.

Meanwhile, the government appealed to people who had attended the Tablighi Jamaat Congregation in New Delhi to contact 080-29711171 Arogya Sahayavani, the medical helpline number.

The number of confirmed novel coronavirus cases in the country climbed to 3,374 on Sunday while the death toll rose to 77, according to Union Health Ministry data.

While the number of active COVID-19 cases stood at 3,030, as many as 266 people were either cured of the disease and discharged, and one had migrated, it said.
