Heeraben, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother has donated Rs 25,000 to the PM Cares Fund to help the nation fight coronavirus. It is reported that PM Modi’s mother Heeraben donated this amount from her personal savings.

People from all around the country including several celebrities, industrialists, sportspersons and many other leading personalities have contributed to the PM Cares Fund.

The PM had recently announced the Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund, which he said, would go a long way in creating a healthier India.

In his tweet, the PM had said, “The PM-CARES Fund accepts micro-donations too. It will strengthen disaster management capacities and encourage research on protecting citizens. Let us leave no stone unturned to make India healthier and more prosperous for our future generations.”

 The number of COVID-19 cases climbed to 1,071 in India on Monday, while the death toll rose to 29, according to the Union Health Ministry.

The number of active COVID-19 cases stood at 942, while 99 people were either cured or discharged and one had migrated, the ministry stated.
