AP: Journalist fabricated scene to spread fake news about CM Chandrababu Naidu

Journalist fabricated scene to spread fake news about CM Chandrababu Naidu

A picture of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s photo lying on the table covered with discarded paper plates went viral in the social media leading to furore in the media for insulting the CM.

Government investigated the incident and found out that a journalist fabricated the scene for sensationalism.

A meeting of Higher Education officials took place in the fourth block of Velagapudi Secretariat recently to which the media was not invited. After the meeting, a news channel cameraman passing by saw the picture of Chandrababu lying on the table in the conference room and discarded paper plates strewn around.

He then placed all the discarded plates on the Chandrababu’s picture and recorded a video of the whole scene. This went viral on the social media as he wanted to sensationalise the news.

The authorities complained to the news channel about the journalist. He was also called by the officials and reprimanded. Government leaders cautioned all departments to keep an eye on media personnel.
