Jagan looking at padyatra as new poll strategy

  • YSR and Chandrababu Naidu, became chief ministers only after their padayatras
  • Looks like padayatras before elections has become a sentiment
  • That’s why Jagan is also thinking of following the same
Jagan looking to go the padyatra route like his father and Chandrababu Naidu before him

Will the YCP leader YS Jagan soon take up a padayatra for attaining power? That’s a yes according to the party people. In 2004 before the elections, it can be remembered that the late CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy did a padayatra from Chevella in Rangareddy District to Icchapuram in Srikakulam district.

Now Jagan has expressed his desire to do such a padayatra according to sources. Till now Jagan did many marches like odarpu yatra, this and that. But he feels that none of them would suffice for gaining power. So he has made up his mind to do a padayatra.

Till now three huge padayatras took place in the state. First was YSR’s, second was Chandrababu’s and the third was Sharmila’s. Not only these padayatras but some leaders did padayatras in their own districts.

Truly speaking if a leader does a padayatra, then he gets an opportunity to meet many people. In many places, the villagers also would walk with the leader. It would give an opportunity to closely look into the local problems. That’s why YSR and Chandrababu chose to do so. Jagan is also thinking on those lines. He is in a serious discussion about the route. The date would probably be decided in the Plenary meetings.
