In a veiled attack, Andhra Endowments Minister and veteran BJP leader Pydikondala Manikyala Rao told newly inducted Kakinada women corporators that if they really want to succeed in politics, they should ensure that they never become like YSRCP MLA RK Roja.
Rao, who was speaking at the felicitation function of the newly inducted female Kakinada corporators Nallabilli Sujatha, Godi Satyavathi and Saligrama Lakshmi Prasanna asked to instead follow the example of BJP Central Minister Daggupati Purandeswari.
He said while on one hand, you have an example like YSRCP MLA RK Roja from whom you can learn how not to behave and talk, on the other you have good examples like Purandeswari from whom you can learn how to behave and how to speak.
His comment, however, has not gone down well with political pundits in the state who claim that Purandeswari has not political standing before Roja.
Roja won in 2014 elections in spite of all adversities from TDP whereas Purandeswari lost the Rajampet MP seat.
Purandeswari is all against CM Chandrababu Naidu and in many instances appreciated YS Jagan. There were even rumours that she might join YSRCP. In this context it is really a confusing advice given by Manikyala Rao.
BJP won three woman corporators in the recent Kakinada Municipal election and Manikyala Rao expressed his happiness that BJP is creating a niche for itself in AP. He expressed his hope that BJP will win many seats in the coming general election.
