FollowUK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his partner Carrie Symonds have welcomed a baby boy into the world. The child and the mother are doing well at a London hospital.
The spokeswoman said, "the Prime Minister and Ms Symonds are thrilled to announce the birth of a healthy baby boy at a London hospital earlier this morning. Both mother and baby are doing very well".
Johnson and Symonds announced in March that they were expecting a baby in "early summer", and that they had become engaged at the end of last year.
The couple made history last July by becoming the first unmarried couple to officially live together in Downing Street.
Symonds has had a prominent career working in politics and was part of the campaign team that helped get Johnson re-elected as mayor of London in 2012.
The British Prime Minister has four children from his second marriage.
