Southern Stavropol region's traffic police head, Col Alexei Safonov, allegedly took bribes for allotting fake permits to businesses. A report suggests that the cop was raided with 35 of his officers accused of running a ‘Mafia gang’. Following this, he has been dismissed on corruption charges. Meanwhile, videos of his extravagant house were leaked and distributed publicly.
