Wild bear enters residential area, attacks 8 people; 2 grievously injured

In the spine-chilling incident, a wild bear strayed into a town and created panic among the public and left eight people injured. Among eight, two have suffered serious injuries. The bear later ran and hid in a backyard after the crowd followed it with sticks.
 
Forest officials who rushed to Bhawanipatna in Odisha, tried to tranquilize the animal, but failed to catch it. The bear escaped into the forest.
The injured are receiving treatment in hospital.
