Leaky roof at health centre forces woman to give birth in tarpaulin tent

Karnataka's poor health system was exposed by rains as a leaky roof in a Primary Health Centre in Shahapura in North Karnataka forced doctors to send a pregnant woman home immediately after delivery.

Every time it rains, water leaks from the roof of this Primary Health Centre. The facility in the backward district of the Hyderabad-Karnataka region has remained unrepaired for the last few years and successive governments have not done anything about it.
