Bengaluru violence: 80 accused persons shifted to Ballari jail

Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Police shifted the 80 arrested persons in connection with Bengaluru violence to Ballari jail following 15 days of judicial custody.

The accused were taken to Ballari in the night to avoid any further violence. The accused were taken in KSRTC buses.

On Wednesday morning (August 12), police arrested about 150 people and 80 were remanded in judicial custody. All the accused persons were produced before a magistrate via video conference.

Bengaluru’s KG Halli, DJ Halli and Kaval Byrasandra saw riots after Congress MLA Akhanda Srinivas Murthy’s nephew P Naveen posted a derogatory social media post. The MLA’s house was vandalised and burnt down. Also, a police station was vandalised. Many including police personnel were injured in the violence on Tuesday evening (August 11).
