Bengaluru roads claimed 698 lives from January to November 2019

2019 was not a good year for motorists as 698 lives were lost due to road accidents. As per a Bengaluru Traffic Department report, Bengaluru witnessed a rise in the death toll compared to 2018 which recorded 684 deaths. The experts attributed the deaths to reckless driving and speeding.

A report from Bengaluru Traffic department has indicated that the year 2019 was a bad year for motorists. At one end, the city has seen a reduction in travel time, but on the other hand, 698 lives have been lost.

According to experts, majority of the victims are people aged between 18 and 35. As there is a tendency to ride very fast during early morning and late evening on relatively emptier roads, motorists end up crashing  into or get hit by other vehicles from the opposite direction.
