Bengaluru riot – Our religion doesn't teach us to become violent: SDPI

SDPI leader Wasim Ahmed requested police to investigate the matter while stating that the Muslim religion doesn't teach people to go violent.

Bengaluru: Speaking about the Bengaluru violence, SDPI leader Wasim Ahmed said that other political parties are trying to target SDPI. He also accused police stating that their inaction at the time made the situation worse. He also said that the violence took place because of delaying tactics of authorities.
 
Violence erupted in DJ Halli area of Karnataka's Bengaluru over a social media post on prophet Muhammad. According to sources, nephew of a Congress MLA Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy uploaded a derogatory post about Prophet Muhammad.
 
Three persons were killed in the riot and many including police were injured. The mob vandalised a police station and set MLA Murthy’s house on fire.
