Bengaluru rains: Residents regret decision of voting for unresponsive public representatives

A deluge of problems returned with heavy rains in Bengaluru's LB Shastrinagar. The October 2 rain flooded roads, drains and homes. Residents had to spend the night displacing dirty water from their homes and water storage tanks. Despite several appeals to public representatives and engineers in the past to get the stormwater drains cleared, nothing has happened.

The word monsoon or rains is enough to set off worry in the minds of Bengalureans. BWSSB's manholes overflowing, roads caving, uprooting of trees, falling of branches, clogging of stormwater drains and flood water in homes have become commonplace. This is what exactly is happening to residents of LB Shastrinagar, who had to spend their night clearing dirty water which had entered their homes.

The incident occurred in the evening of October 2 following heavy rain. Residents of LB Shastrinagar 2nd cross certainly remembered their decision of electing their corporator while clearing the dirty water from their homes, as the drain on either side of the road had entered their homes.

Residents complained that the contaminated water has impacted the health of children. Many residents said that they realise that the politicians who offer money during elections are not the ones who will come to address their concerns later.
