Citizen groups, corporates and police take care of over 40,000 labourers in Bengaluru's Whitefield

Integrated approach adopted by the police, citizens groups and corporates have ensured that no construction worker in the Whitefield area of Bengaluru remains hungry during lockdown. Over 40,000 workers are taken care of during lockdown. 

As there were concerns of death due to hunger among migrants and construction workers in Whitefield and Mahadevpura areas of Bengaluru, the citizen groups, corporate sectors and the police collaborated to reach out to the marginalised sections. With food packs being distributed on a daily basis and essentials being delivered at people's doorstep, nearly 40,000 workers have been taken care of. 

 

Citizen groups like Whitefield Rising, Rotary, corporates like SAP, Goldman Sachs have joined hands with the Whitefield Division Police in reaching out to the poor with cooked food and essentials that can last for ten days.
