Bengaluru Police commissioner Bhaskar Rao on Monday arrived at Chikkajala Police Station and surprised staff.

The intent of his surprise visit was to boost the morale of cops as many are on duty with hardly any breaks ever since the lockdown was announced. Police have a tough time keeping people indoors and at the same time ensuring social distancing norms are maintained.

The overburdened staff were given a push by the commissioner, as well as jurisdiction DCP Bheemashankar Guled to carry on with their service.

According to the DCP, the police stations in north east division have turned into community kitchens as they not only prepare food for station staff but also to health workers and BBMP staff who are on COVID-19 duty.

The commissioner who arrived for a health check-up inauguration at Chikkajala station, apart from getting his BP and sugar level tested, had lunch with staff.

This act of the police chief is no doubt a morale booster for the staff.
