PM to meet CMs of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Odisha, Maharashtra, Kerala on July 16

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the chief ministers of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Odisha, Maharashtra, Kerala at 11 am on July 16 to discuss the Covid-19 situation in these states.

The next round of review discussion comes after Tuesday's interaction with chief ministers of the North-Eastern states.

During the interaction with northeast chief ministers, the Prime Minister lauded the people, health workers and the state governments for their hard work in the fight against the pandemic and creating infrastructure for testing, treatment and vaccination despite the difficult terrain of the states.

In his next meeting, too, the prime minister is expected to reiterate his concerns over the growing number of cases in some districts and could call for the need to catch these signals and take strict actions at the micro-level. 

Prime Minister Modi is also expected to advise strict monitoring of the mutation and keep track of all variants. 

As in his Tuesday meeting, PM Modi could re-emphasized the importance of following best practices to counter any resurgence of the case and advocate a strategy of testing, tracking and treatment.
