- Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have welcomed BJP’s Vice Presidential candidate
- But the villagers of Naidu’s hometown prefer to see him as President
- However, they hope he will become president of India next term
The announcement of the name of Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu as the NDA candidate for the post of Vice President of India has been welcomed by the two Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
There’s a notion among the Telugu people that they have not been given their due at the national level. In recent times the calibre and capabilities of Telugu people are being recognised and appreciated. In such a context the name of M. Venkaiah Naidu as NDA’s Vice Presidential candidate has made the people proud.
But the people of his native village Chavatapalem in Nellore District are not so happy about his nomination for Vice President. They feel that he would have been best suited for the President’s post. A Telugu person adorning the highest office of India would have been a proud moment for the Telugu people. Since that is not possible in this term, his villagers hope to see him as the President in the next term.
