Telangana medical student torched over MBBS seat

FollowIn a brutal incident in Hyderabad, a young married girl pursuing her BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) and living in Rocktown colony in LB Nagar died suspiciously on Sunday. Police say that she was first murdered and then poured was kerosene on her and was torched.
According to news reports, 24-year-old Harika from Khammam District Kusumanchi mandal was married to a software engineer Rishi Kumar, a native of Mahbubnagar District nearly three years back
Harika’s family say that the couple frequently quarrelled with each other as Harika didn’t get an MBBS seat and was studying BDS in Kamineni Institute of Medical Sciences. Rishi said that he would have marital relations with her only after she gets an MBBS seat.
On Sunday night, Rishi Kumar informed Harika’s parents that their daughter committed suicide by pouring kerosene and torching herself.
But Harika’s parents complained of foul play and say that her husband murdered her. They complained that Harika was sharing about the couple’s quarrels with her family but they told her to adjust and everything would settle down.
Harika’s sister told the media that Rishi Kumar had extra-marital affairs and was harassing her sister for dowry. She alleged that he had killed her sister and portrayed it as suicide.
The police took Rishi Kumar and his family into custody and are interrogating them.
