Where do you plan to set up AIIMS in TN? HC sends notice to Centre and TN Government
- The Centre and the Tamil Nadu state government are dilly dallying the release of list of probable AIIMS site in TN.
- The Madurai High Court raps government agencies for the delay.
- This came after a petition was lodged by a man seeking information about the new AIIMS site.
FollowThe High Court has sought details from the central and the state government of where the new AIIMS would be set up in Tamil Nadu. A notice has been sent to the Central and State government.
A social welfare petition has been filed by Ramesh from Madurai, which stated, “People are staging continuous protest, demanding to know where AIIMS will be set up in Tamil Nadu. The issue has reached its pinnacle. Even after many inspections, carried out by the Central government, the detail of where the AIIMS would be set up is not yet notified. I request the Health Secretary to nudge the Director of AIIMS to notify us with the list.”
Following this petition, a notice has been sent by judges A.Selvam and N.Aadhinaathan (Madurai Court Branch) to the Central Health Secretary, TN Chief Minister and Health Secretary.
The case has been postponed for hearing to July 12.
