Tamil Nadu: O Paneerselvam has decided to support BJP's presidential candidate
- O Paneerselvam has said that Ram Nath Kovind is a good administrator and will back the BJP's presidential candidate
- O Paneerselvam has 12 MPs and MLAs in his team
- BJP plans to seek support from TTV Dinakaran’s team
FollowFormer Tamil Nadu chief minister O Panneerselvam on Thursday, June 22, 2017, decided to support the BJP nominee Ram Nath Kovind for Presidential polls.
Ram Nath Kovind has been nominated as a candidate by the ruling BJP in the presidential election.
BJP has been seeking support from each and every political party in India, including the opposition parties. In the same way, BJP’s President Amit Shah has sought the support of O Panneerselvam. It should be noted that there are 12 MPs and MLAs in his ‘Puratchi Thalaivi Amma’ team.
When OPS met the reporters, he said, “Heeding BJP President Amit Shah's request, it has been unanimously decided by our AIADMK (Amma) team to back their nominee. Hailing from the dalit community, Ram Nath Kovind has achieved a lot. He has already been the member of the Rajya Sabha twice and the Governor of Bihar. He is a good administrator”
Having sought the support of both AIADMK and Puratchi Thalaivi Amma teams, now the BJP has planned to seek the support from TTV Dinakaran’s team. It should be noted that Dinakaran has 34 MLAs in his team.
