Tamil Nadu: Jailed Maoists held with pendrive containing porn clips

  • Two youths were held passing on a pendrive with porn clips to a jailed Maoist.
  • Youths claim that the allegations are false and that police is slapping a false case against them.
  • Sources reveal that the pendrive was found in the pocket of a trouser that was being passed on to the Maoists as change of clothes.

Two days after rights activist from Kerala, including the brother of naxal activist C.P. Moideen, were arrested for allegedly trying to hand over a pendrive to jailed maoists in Coimbatore, inside sources said that the pen drive contained porn clips.After a complaint was lodged by police authorities brother of Moideen and Harihara Sharma, both members of a Kerala-based rights outfit were arrested by the Race Course Road police after they were caught with a pendrive.

Sources said, "The two had brought clothes for Anoop, a naxal activist of Kerala who is lodged in Coimbatore Central jail as a remand prisoner after he was arrested in 2015. In the clothes, the jail staff found a pen drive hidden in a secret pocket in the pants meant for Anoop."

A police officer, speaking to the Deccan Chronicle said, "Though the two tried to create ruckus at the prison, we arrested and remanded them." It is said that Moideen is a leader of a branch of a Maoist group in Kerala and is believed to be hiding in the tri-junction forest in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka.

It is also being suspected that the clips may hide some other confidential files. Police authorities have sent the flash drive for forensic investigation. Some sources also said, "They may be checking if they can hand over a pen drive to Anoop without being detected by the jail staff. After receiving the drive from one person, he can also hand over the same to some other person who is visiting him."

Meanwhile, the two arrested youths from the organisation Janakeeya Manushyavakasha Prasthanam said that the police had slapped a false case against them.
