Stalin says that since AIADMK has split into 3, they are scared to contest the local body elections
- Stalin believes that AIADMK is scared of contesting the polls because it is broken into three factions.
- A bill has been passed in the Assembly to extend the working period of the officials in the Municipal corporations.
- M.K Stalin had strongly objected to this bill and had walked out of the Assembly.

A bill has been passed in the Assembly to extend the working period of the officials in the Municipal corporations. The DMK and the other opposition parties had walked out of the Assembly in opposition of the bill passed.
The officials were supposed to retire on 30, June 2017, but this bill has extended their service till 31, December 2017. Their working period has got extended now for the third time.
M.K Stalin had strongly objected to this bill and had walked out of the Assembly.
On meeting the reporters in the premises of the Assembly, M.K Stalin said, “Even the local body election is being withheld. As the ‘Two Leaves’ symbol has been frozen and as the AIADMK party split into 3, the party is now scared to contest the local body elections."
