Actor Rajinikanth is expected to announce his political entry on his birthday on December 12, 2017, according to credible sources. Rajinikanth met his fans in Chennai on May 15, 2017, for five consequent days. His meeting with his fans has triggered expectations on his political entry. On that occasion, Rajini said, "If the Lord wants, I will come to politics”. His statement has ruined the peace of political parties.
Political leaders in Tamil Nadu had earlier said that Rajini’s political entry will not bother them and that in a democratic country, anyone could join politics if they wish to.
