During the induction function on MGR Centenary, he made a controversial comment saying that there would be no need for inviting the other state CMs as they would not know about MGR.

As the statement has created shock waves, the minister has denied the controversial statement by saying “I meant that we would only invite people who were with him all his life and who would know him inside out. I said that it was not necessary to invite people who may not thoroughly familiar with him. I also commented that we would invite the north Indian leaders to the functions in Chennai and might not be for the celebrations in other districts as that would not be convenient for them. It is sad to know that the people are manipulating my comment”.

“I am a true devotee of both MGR and Jayalalithaa, I love them more than my life”, Srinivas further added.
