Tamil actor Vishal, addressing the media in Tamil, has requested Karnataka to share water. "We are all Indians first and then Kannadiga or Tamilian," said Vishal. The Kannada Community responded saying, "we are not saying we do not want to share water, but we do not have water in the first place."
Actor Vishal, while participating in a movie promotion in Karnataka, requested the state to share water with Tamil Nadu. Vishal, the General Secretary of South India Artists Association and the President of the Tamil Film Producers Council, participated in the music launch of the movie Raghuveera.
During the launch, he said, “Even though it is a Kannada music launch event, I am proud to address in Tamil. No one should mistake me. Tamilians have the right to ask for water. We are all Indians. We should not be partial. Many Kannadigas are living in Tamil Nadu. There are countless Tamilians living in Karnataka. It is the mere responsibility of the state to protect the Tamilians. Water is not only for Karnataka. We have the right to claim it. Nobody can say that we should not ask for it.”
He further added, “The Producers council would always render our complete support to the directors who come to Tamil Nadu for filming”. In reply to that, several Kannada Community members stated, “We don’t say we will not give water to Tamil Nadu. We say we do not have water”.
