Stalin, a resident of Poonamallee, was returning from the church when he was waylaid by a youth named Parthiban. He demanded for the man’s daughter’s mobile number. When Stalin refused, Pratibhan attacked him by slashing his hand. People rushed at him to prevent the assault but backed off when he brandished the knife at the crowd. It was a half hour struggle after which the crowd managed to overpower him hand him over to the police.
It is reported that Parthiban would take tuitions from Stalin’s daughter. He has allegedly not been mentally stable from the last few weeks. Stalin has lodged a complaint against Pratibhan and he was put in prison.
