Cold War between the factions of AIADMK is hurting its public image

FollowAfter Jayalalitha’s demise, AIADMK was split in two. The team under the leadership of Sasikala call themselves AIADMK (Amma), whereas the former Chief Minister O Paneerselvam’s team is called AIADMK (Puratchithalaivi Amma).
AIADMK (Amma) member E Palaniswami is the current Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. TTV Dinakaran has taken the leadership of AIADMK (Amma) as the Deputy Secretary after Sasikala was imprisoned.
When Dinakaran was also arrested, it was the Chief Minister, who took the lead and served the task of the General Secretary. When Dinakaran was released on bail, he made an announcement that he would continue as the Deputy Secretary. But the supporters of EPS were totally against this and this created a rift in the faction.
The members from both the teams have continually been hurling accusations at each other.
In Thiruthani, AIADMK minister Hari said, “Sasikala, who was declared guilty and imprisoned, has no power over the party and both Sasikala and Dinakaran should be expelled permanently.”
P Vetrivel, a minister from Perambur, has strongly condemned this statement by saying that the Chief Minister should immediately react towards such comments and take action.
He has also said that such statements would not be tolerated and they would not wait anymore to weed out those who ruin the party’s name.
