Just a few hours after news about a techie set ablaze by a stalker rattled the consciousness of the readers, here's another high-profile case involving the son of a TV actor. 23-year-old Midhun Srinivasan, also the son of a popular TV actor Bhuvaneshwari, was arrested by the police for stalking and harassing a third year MBBS student.
The Thirumangalam police arrested him on charges of harassment after the woman, a third year MBBS student lodged a police complaint. A resident of Angel Street in Thirumalai Nagar, Valsaravakkam, Mithun knew his victim since school and had later stalked her on social media.
He allegedly broke CCTV cameras at her residence and also turned up at her college. Fed up with his activities, the girl then lodged a complaint at the Anna Nagar police station. According to an article by the Deccan Chronicle, police investigations revealed that Midhun was harassing the girl for some months now and had threatened her. He has been booked under sections - 354-B (assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe), 448 - (punishment for house-trespass), 427 - (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees), 506 (criminal intimidation) and section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act (penalty for harassment of women).
He was later produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.
