Chennai tourist, victim of stone pelting in Kashmir; here's what the CM said

A tourist from Tamil Nadu died in Srinagar on Monday evening when a mob went on a rampage near Narbal on the outskirts of the city. The 22-year-old resident of Chennai, identified as R Thirumani suffered head injuries after being hit with a stone during the rampage. The tourist, who was enjoying a vacation with his family, was taken to the SKIMS hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

Reacting to the incident, the Chief Minister of J&K, Mehbooba Mufti, said that it was unfortunate and heartbreaking for such an event to have occurred. The opposition leader, Omar Abdullah, stated that it was better to wrap their heads around as they stoned to death a tourist, a guest. The former CM also prayed for the recovery of the woman who was injured during the pelting.  

According to reports, a case was registered, and the investigation has been taken up.
