On May 16, 2018, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) played a thrilling match against Mumbai Indians which the team lost by a close margin of 3 runs. While the Mumbai team celebrated, it was heartbreaking for the Punjab team especially for KL Rahul, who made a stunning 94 runs in just 60 balls.

Picked for Rs 11 crores in the auctions by Zinta & Co, he has justified his price tag, and his stellar performances paved the way for their massive wins this season. He is now the owner of the orange cap with 652 runs. He also tops the chart for maximum sixes with 32.

Meanwhile, his gesture after the match against Mumbai is heart-warming. He is adjudged the Fbb Stylish player of the match for his knock. After receiving the trophy, KL gave his award to the fans seated in a stand. The fans caught it and in turn wished him all the best in his future endeavours.
