The 2020 Tokyo Olympics has been a grand success, and it all comes to an end on Monday. Meanwhile, it would be the turn for Paris to take over the reins from Tokyo.

The Paris Olympics organisers have said that they would be flying the biggest flag ever ahead of the handover. However, it remains unclear if it would be the French flag, the Olympic flag, or the Paris 2024.

"We waited an extra year for this moment. The excitement is extreme. We want to start with a world record. It's the biggest flag ever raised, ever," said Tony Estanguet (Paris 2024 president) during a media interaction.

The closing ceremony for the Tokyo Olympics takes place on Monday. During the same, International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach would hand over the Olympic flag to Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo to mark the beginning of the preparations and build-up to the Paris Olympics.
