Royal Challengers Bangalore have not made it to the Playoffs this season. Here is a list of players who could have a difference.

The group stage of the Indian Premier League has come to an end, and Royal Challengers Bangalore have not made the cut this time despite having such big names and such a well-balanced squad.

While Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers were put under severe pressure the entire period of the season, this was done merely due to the lack of performance by their teammates in the squad which led to them not making it to the Top 4.

Royal Challengers Bangalore could have done a lot of things differently, this season's auction to begin with. Here is a look at four players that went unsold this season who could have left a significant impact on the team's performance this season.

England's Test Captain Joe Root who has been the side's best player 3 times in a row and was surprisingly not picked up this year at the Auctions. The 27-year-old could have helped RCB score those crucial runs they required run especially while chasing. Brendon McCullum who hasn't been in good form in the last few seasons could have been dropped for Joe Root.

2. Moises Henriques

At the onset of the tournament when Nathan Coulter-Nile injured himself, the replacement chosen by the RCB was Corey Anderson. Though this was a good pick on paper, it happened to backfire for the squad. Corey has been quite expensive this season and has not been able to deliver for the team. In fact, his spell against CSK this season was so expensive at the death overs that they ended up losing the match.

Another replacement for Nathan Coulter-Nile could have been the Sri Lankan right arm fast bowler Lasith Malinga. Malinga has shown promise over the years in the IPL leading the attack for the Mumbai Indians especially his brilliant record at the death overs. Something RCB required this season.

4. Ishant Sharma

The Indian fast bowler who went unsold this IPL Auction despite having a base price of 75 lakhs could have added up to the much need pace to the RCB squad. He could have been placed at the death overs as he has proven himself to be a responsible bowler at the last overs.
