Huge victory for Punjab. Both Rahul and Gayle have thrashed the KKR bowling to all corners of Eden Gardens and the fielding captain had absolutely no clue of how to stop them. Feel, Karthik missed a trick by not bowling spinners against Gayle early. However, Mavi's bowling is the only positive for the home side in the second half of the match.
Kings XI Punjab openers' Chris Gayle and K L Rahul smashed the Kolkata Knight Riders' bowlers really hard and hit them all across the Eden Gardens in the Match 18 of Indian Premier League (IPL 2018). KXIP was at 96-0 in 8.2 overs when the rain came in. Chaing 192, Chirs Gayle and K L Rahul gave Kings XI Punjab a flying start as they both scored boundaries and sixes.
The rain came down heavy, but the KXIP openers ensured that the side was well and truly in front. The revised target of 125 in 13 overs was swallowed easily. Gayle made 62 at a strike-rate of 163 dots, but to me Rahul's 27-ball 60 was special primarily because of the ease with which he hit the bowlers. Hardly played a rash shot. Making a serious case for an opening slot for India in T20s.
Batting first Kolkata Knight Riders posted 191/7 against Punjab in the ongoing T20 League 2018 at Eden Gardens thanks to the innings of Chris Lynn. Chris Lynn scored 74 runs off 41 balls and Dinesh Karthik scored 43 runs off 28 balls. Kolkata Knight Riders were second in the standings, with Punjab two spots below. However, victory today helped Punjab leapfrog Kolkata and Chennai into the top spot of the points table.
