Led by new captain Dinesh Karthik, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)
start off their campaign in style, a morale-boosting 4-wicket win over RCB. Sunil Narine blasted 50 off 17 balls! Can you believe it? He has done it again. He's making a habit of it.

They start their tournament with a win in front of home fans. Happy start for Karthik as a captain. Sunil Narine changed things right at the beginning with a blitzkrieg of an innings smashing a half-century off 17 balls. Handy contributions from Nitish Rana and Karthik staying on till the end to see his side to a four-wicket win.

KKR captain Karthik has played for five franchises in IPL - Delhi Daredevils, Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Lions - in 152 matches across 10 seasons before joining KKR.

Full credit should go to the captaincy of Dinesh Karthik. Despite their struggle, while bowl in the first innings, they did not give up and came out and attacked fearlessly and as a result, they tamed the RCB superstars.

KKR  177/6 (18.5 overs)

RCB 176/7 (20 overs)
