Hyderabad has finally lost. But by only 15 runs. It will help their run-rate, but KXIP walks away with all the points. A slow start made all the difference herein, but that's for the chasing side. For Punjab, it was all Gayle who brought out another round of fireworks. Punjab is now as high up as third in the table and more importantly high in confidence as well.

KXIP beat SRH at Mohali for the first time in IPL 2018. Was quite gutsy from Ashwin to opt to bat and risk another successful chase from SRH, but he ruled out dew in favour of SRH's potential vulnerability against chasing big scores, given their bowling hasn't allowed the opponents to score many. The plan was to put in a big total, and Chris Gayle's sixth hundred got them that.

Punjab scored 193/3 after electing to bat. The star of the innings was Chris Gayle, who scored the tournament's first century, making 104 runs from 63 deliveries. He was helped by all the other batsmen who came in. The run rate of Kings XI Punjab never fell. Gayle smashed one four and 11 sixes. He remained not out through the innings.

Punjab now as high up as third in the table and more importantly high in confidence as well. And they will need it for they have Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils in the next four days.... both away games.

Karun Nair scored 31 from 21 balls while KL Rahul failed to shine today, scoring just 18. Finch scored 14 from 6 balls. Bhuvaneshwar, Rashid and Siddarth took 1 wicket each for Hyderabad.

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a bad start to their innings as opener Shikhar Dhawan was retired hurt after being hit on the elbow.

After that Wriddhaman Saha was dismissed cheaply and Yusuf Pathan followed him soon after. Even Yusuf's promotion didn't work.
